Foundry and Fabrication’s aluminium foundry has a significant history with the railway industry, making safety equipment critical to its effective operation. Many of our aluminium castings are also used in railway signalling equipment.

Although the designs that our aluminium foundry produces for the industry are established parts which have not changed for many years, the availability of our in-house pattern shop means that, where a part or pattern does need modification, we have the capability to alter designs or carry out repairs as needed.

Despite the spending cuts in the UK at the moment, our transport infrastructure, particularly in the case of a high speed rail network, is one area where the government is looking to place investment. More than this, they want a domestic supply chain for the industry. And again, this is an area where Foundry & Fabrication’s ability to provide a total solution leaves us well-placed to compete for this new business.
