Railway Train Location Equipment

Foundry and Fabrication’s aluminium foundry has a significant history with the railway industry, making safety equipment critical to its effective operation. Many of our aluminium castings have historically been used in railway signalling equipment, but as technologies advance, we manufacture assemblies that are used in automatic train locations. This brings greater tracking capabilities and enhanced safety to a train network that is increasingly loaded.

Where designs are tested and well established, often they are not expected to be changed for many years, however, the availability of our in-house pattern shop means that, where a part or pattern does need modification, we have the capability to alter designs or carry out repairs as required.

The nature of the rail network is such that there is a reliance on component reliability and longevity, with little or no human intervention. The paint finishes applied to many of the castings enable our customers to fit and forget, saving them time and disruption to the network.
